Re: Meridian SP, Colorado Bend SP, or Pedernales Falls?
Forget Pedernales Falls SP. San Antonio news at 5:00pm the other night showed virtually no water in the river (ankle deep) and park rangers interviewed stated there were hardly any visitors.

Re: Suggestions on a Truck Tent?
I've done the backseat ritual before. Too darn hot. Besides, I need a little more comfort in my old age.

Suggestions on a Truck Tent?
I am seriously looking to buy a truck tent for my F-150 long bed. After looking at endless models available I'm leaning toward the Kodiak Canvas Truck Tent. Anybody got any experience with this rig? Like anything else, the reviews on line go either way. Thanks in advance.

I heard from a guy that lives down that way. I'll let you know when something gets lined up. I hit the big 60 on the weekend of September 18th. I'm gonna spend it somewhere camping and fishing.

Interest in New Area to Fish
I posted this on the TKFSA site but thought I might get more info from you guys who hit the salt on a regular basis. I think the area between Seadrift and Palacios as you drive up 35 is very senic, and I love the marshes and back bays. Any input on areas to camp and kayak along this stretch of coast...

I'm Back
After being away from the Board (and kayak fishing) for a little over a year I am finally back to a normal existence again. I'm off on weekends at long last and ready to do some fishing again. I have a question and need some information if anyone can help. We make several trips a year over to East M...

Re: 9 Mile Hole Trip...Still Alive
OK. I've heard back from the boat owner. He wants a mid-week trip with ten kayakers. The kayaks would be loaded on a towed barge behind his boat, arriving at a cabin around 3:00 p.m. Fish til dark. Spend the night at the cabin at the Land Cut. Fish the next day til 2:00 or 3:00 p.m. and then head ba...

Re: 9 Mile Hole Trip...Still Alive
Joe. If you know anyone who has been able to get over to the Intercoastal side via Yarborough chime in please by all means. I've talked to several folks who have tried and failed in 4x4 vehicles recently. I should have additional info by tomorrow to post re this proposed venture.

Just past the mouth of Baffin Bay, on the other side of the Land Cut. Huge expanse of grass flats and pot holes. Outstanding fishery.

9 Mile Hole Trip...Still Alive
Hey guys! I've been in touch with a guy who is outfitting a 36 foot cruiser to serve as a mother ship for kayakers. He is very interested in working with us on an overnight trip to 9 Mile Hole. We will be his first charter and he is very excited to be working with us. In order for us to put a price ...

Re: Results of East Matty trip
Thanks, you guys. Hey Big Country. The proposed trip to 9 Mile Hole ain't dead. I found a guy through a friend who is outfitting a 36 footer to transport kayakers from the Corpus area down to the Hole and Badlands of Baffin area. More to come with pics of the boat this evening. Bill

Results of East Matty trip
Saturday dawned windy, dark and ominous. Angry waves churned East Matagorda Bay to chocolate milk, and a black northern horizon warned of what was scheduled to arrive by noon. Kayaking was clearly not an option that day. So, off to Henery's for a sack of fresh dead shrimp, changed out jig heads to t...

Heading to East Matty
Well, supposed to fish tomorrow but the weather doesn't look promising to say the least. May be stuck drowning shrimp from the dock. Mike Bosse from DownSouthLures sent me some of their new line of soft plastics. I'm impressed with the design and colors are neat. If I get a chance to use them I'll p...

Garner next week anyone?
After my trip to Hati tomorrow I'm hopefully off most of next week. I was thinking about running out to Garner State Park for a day-long light tackle outing on Wednesday or Thursday. Anybody interested in going shoot me a PM.

You hit the nail on the head, Craig. Best part of the show was not thinking about work. Only hitch in the day was at the Verizon Wireless booth. My wife managed to talk me into upgrading her cell phone while there. I didn't need a new rod anyway...

Boat show was OK this year, better than last year in my opinion. But please, $4.00 for a soft drink? Ugh!! Thank goodness I wasn't hungry.
