Re: Coming back...
Yep. No need to kill myself or the boat any more. It is Fishing, ...not Catching.

Re: Coming back...
Texas Jack...Yes, I still have a 17 ft tinny that I leave in TN (for the Summers). They did something on tinboats to re-activate the announcements. Otherwise, I haven't participated in many discussions lately. I spend some of my time shooting Skeet/Trap etc. I am also starting to try to fly some sma...

Re: Coming back...
Thanks guys. Yes, I'll be rigging yet another yak soon. I bought the wheels for my cart yesterday. They were on a kid's bike for $8.00 from a thrift store. Ha Ha
If any of you fish during the week days, perhaps we can hit the water together.
I have a lot to re-learn.

Coming back...
I was a long-time member of this group until about a half-dozen years ago. At the time, I owned a few yaks and fished the Galveston Bay complex with them. After buying and running some tin power boats, I've sold my Texas PB, and bought a tiny Mini-X yak. I owned one of them way back when. When it ar...

Is West Galveston Island open tomorrow, Friday?
I know it was closed a few weeks ago for some remodeling? I checked their site and it didn't mention the prior closing nor whether or not it was presently open.
Does anyone know for sure? I'd hate to drive 80 miles (one way) and find out that it was still closed. thanks.

Re: Design and 3D Printing Lures
I'm sorry I missed your earlier posts when you were just getting started with the 3D printer. I have two 3D printers and have made all sorts of things, including lure molds. It is just plain fun to think of a "something" in the morning and own it in the afternoon. Are you injecting your lu...

Re: Love my new inflatable Intex Excursion Pro-2 kayak.
I had an old, small drift chute/windsock/drift anchor. I added that to the anchor trolleys that I put on. It keeps the boat where I want it, without having to anchor. The wind likes to blow inflatables around, but there are ways around some of those issues. Without the built-in skeg, this thing woul...

Re: Love my new inflatable Intex Excursion Pro-2 kayak.
It is SO MUCH fun to catch a good fish from a kayak. Almost as much fun as catching them wade fishing. p.s. I wish I could get my big butt into a redfish 10.

Love my new inflatable Intex Excursion Pro-2 kayak.
Yes, at age 81, I bought my 6th kayak. While I still have a 17 ft tinny here in TN., I decided that there were some small ponds/lakes around that I'd like to fish. For well under $500, all-in, I can deflate; fold, and transport this 12 ft. yak anywhere. I added a far better seat and I still don't ha...

Re: Eddyline Kayaks
"Over the last 15 years or so I have told myself I don’t need to be going offshore in a kayak".... I have had the same thoughts. Candidly, I am initially thinking of nothing more than yakking out a bait or two. Even that, it would be Fall/Wintertime when the breezes are out of the North. L...

Re: Eddyline Kayaks
Good luck with your search and purchase. You did mention not wanting a rudder. You may then just consider a skeg. A proper skeg will keep the yak straight, and there is nothing to fool around with. They stick down below anywhere from four inches to 7 or so. I've considered 3D printing a "kick-u...

Re: Kayak seat help, please
Thanks for your help. I did discover some hidden dimensions on the Amazon items that I previously viewed. I've ordered a Thick pad kayak seat.
If that doesn't work out, the yoga seat (with a number of mods) might actually do the trick...Thanks for the response. rich

Kayak seat help, please
Here I am, back again. Now on my 6th kayak over the last 15 years. At age 82 (don't laugh) I just bought an Intex Excursion Pro 12 ft inflatable. The use will be small ponds and shallow flats. No white water and any other craziness at this time. It's my first inflatable and was purchased because my ...

No real surprise.

thanks, guys.

Re: Probably just a come-on...but?
I couldn't agree more. I even doubt the "we are located in Houston TX" part. That's why I wondered if anyone had heard of them at all. Usually, our own residents know something about a boat/yak manufacturer in our midst. thanks, rich

Probably just a come-on...but?
I know that I haven't been around for a while, but...I stumbled across the adv. today. The company claims to be in Houston TX. I've never heard of them.... but I've been out of kayaking for a few years (I'm now age 81). Anyhow, has anyone heard of them? The price is so low that it has to be nonsense...

Re: Fall overboard? This might help.
Just a thought...perhaps if your bow line were clipped onto your paddle leash, you'd have a much better chance of recovery. Your paddle should float near you in the case of a flip-over. ???
I don't know how much safer that is, because your yak might pull the paddle away, too???
