HSC at it's deepest points are 45+ foot, when I hit it for the drum run, I take 150' of line for my anchor and use a heavier anchor than I normally would for regular BTB. In the Clear Lake/League City area, they are opening a new store at Nasa 1 and I-45, saw the coming soon sign for it today.

Not familiar enough with the waters in that area to suggest a starting point, but for gigging, I wear the Magellan Neoprene boot foot waders. Look for wadeable areas that dump to the gulf or deep water, I prefer a soft sand or slightly silty bottom.

I use the silica gel packets that come in just about everything now to keep excessive moisture out of my tackle and gear bags.

When gigging in October, I noticed a higher number of lizardfish that I had ever seen, in fact, I had never seen them while gigging before this year, had to ask one of my gigging buddies what they were.
