Re: Solo Skiff Feedback?

Not a Solo owner, but am on the Solo Skiff FB group because like you am interested. I agree with you on the 6hp and keeping the law on the safe side. Ive seen some of the posts where the 5hp is the same motor as the 6hp but carbed different. I seen them buy the 5hp and recarb it so you have a 5hp wi...

Haven't looked in the store yet and am not familiar with croutons, but is there a brand name for the Texas toast croutons? BTW the recipe looks to be awesome. I am always looking for a change up to cornmeal. Thanks

Re: Question for those with a trolling motor ?

The only exposed parts to the salt water are your drive shaft and metal parts on the control unit. If your in salt for the day bring a jug of fresh water to rinse drive shaft inside prop housing immediately after you pull load up. The seal inside keeps the water from entering the motor housing so th...

Thanks 210STEVE for posting. I too am bending toward a SOLO Skiff. Same exact reason plus the advantage of standing up and stretching. I have an OK 13.6' and a WS 135 ride. I also live in San Antonio and visit Rockport often. It seem every time I head to the coast its windy, well lets say windier th...

Re: Any kayakers fishing Calaveras lately?

Wasn't sure if anyone was still on TKF so I didn't bother to post. Im in Rockport right now. Catching some trout, but mostly...

Re: Getting older - need some help

I have the same problem or lets say I had the same problem. Its simple but it will take two people. I use a PVC channel drain I bought from Home Depot. Its made of heavy PVC so it won't collapse. I cut it to my needs since a full length is 8'. I set an end on my extender or tailgate, line the kayak ...

Put in close to the entrance of the pier. Work the shell reefs east of the pier and go into East Pocket. Work the shoreline early. Look for bait and redfish action.

Jeez! I don't know what to say guys. Im retired now but am spending my time up in the hill country. I hit Nuecess twice this early spring. caught 17 one day and 5 another. Hit the last of the run. Looked for the Guadalupe/Rebecca creek run, but few reports with little fish caught. Will eventually hi...

Here's mine. Notice the triangle reinforcement brackets on the trapeze. Yes those are 10" tires. Ive been down to the coast many times and to three rivers many times with no problems with bearings or tires. This was an old Harbor Freight trailer the neighbor gave me. He used ti to cart his moto...

Catfish Fandango

Its been awhile so I decided to hit Cali Saturday morning. Foggy Foggy Foggy was the setting. After launching I headed to Cali Cat hole. It was a creepy trek across the lake in the fog. Daylight but foggy. Set my anchor and right off the bat I hooked a cat. Making this short I ended up catching 24 c...

Kinda in a slump these days. Hopefully it picks up. Ive gotta get out more often myself.
Went to Rockport last week. Had the wife and her car so no yaks. Shore fish in sucked. Few trout, couple flounder, reds off the end of Packery jetties. Need a cold weather snap to start them moving I guess.

Thanks for the report Harry.....sure glad Mike didn't turtle sitting side saddle like that....know one of our fellow cat yakkers do that once. Luckily my trolling motor on the other side helped with counter weight. Somewhat anyway. I know filling my ice chest sounds a bit greedy, but I...
