Re: Buying paddles soon and need advice!
I am really struggling with the thought of spending $200+ $$$ on paddles, espcialy since i have used $50 paddles for so long. I recantly did a 20 mile trip and of course i was tired. Im positive i will be tired doing the same trip with lighter paddles. Less tired? maybe, proabbly... Now i obviosly w...

Buying paddles soon and need advice!
Ok fellas i need advice! I have been fishing out of a kayak for over 8 years. I have bought 3 sets of paddles all cheap-o's from Academy. Im planning on spending a little more money on a set and dont know what i should get. My primary boat is a Ride 115. I am 6' 215lbs so i know i need a 240. I unde...

Re: Tips on Duck Hunting from a Kayak
Im also going to duck hunt this year from my yak for the first time. I have been 1 other time in a PB and really enjoyed it. Because i live in central Texas i will mostly be hunting lakes and rivers. I will try my hardiest to get salty once or twice. My questions are : retrieving the birds without a...

Re: Wilderness Ride 115 for the flats
I also have a 2012 Ride 115. As mentioned above it is a little slow, but not enough to bother me. Stabilty is great. I side saddle fine with the high seat, the low might be better i dont have one yet. 6" is the skinniest water i have been in, no problems. Agree a 240 paddle is a must. I added a...

Re: Depth finder -- worth the trouble?
I have been kayak fishing for over 8 years now and have caught LOTS of great fish without electronics. 2 months ago i bought a $60 humming bird DX 200 off of CL. Its is a old cheap-o but it works and its simple, I hull mounted the transducer so temp isn't accurate. install and use is super easy. Now...

Re: Stick Anchors
I got my 3/4" x 8' pole in yesterday, i decided to shoot birds instead of trying it out, im excited to use it. I think i will leave it 8' so it can be a push pole also. Will it be difficult to anchor with it being 8'? Obliviously depends on water depth.

The local government receives the info from DPS? Not sure, speaking from experience though. Not long after i got my license (3yrs ago) i got pulled over by a county sheriff, in conversation with him he told me that in running my plates he knew that i have a CHL... He might of been B.S-ing Me? I dont...

Re: Handgun in Kayak
As easy as open carry would make it to have it on you, concealed is a PITA, I think in texas , you'd see a lot more 30.06 signs in store fronts because of the "shock" factor of people walking around with guns on their hips. Right now its outta sight outta mind. Plus, it keeps the crooks g...

Re: Rod Suggestion under $100
I have All Stars, American Rod co, Castaways, and quantum's.they are all priced between $50-$150 ish but for some reason i use my $35 ugly stick lite M action the most for both bay and fresh water. It is super sensitive and has great action.
Dont judge me!

Re: Handgun in Kayak
Im for open carry even though im probably not going to walk through wal-mart with a .44 mag strapped to my hip. It will be nice when i wont have to worry about the wind blowing up my shirt unconcealing my weapon.
Although a shoulder holster / PFD hybrid would be cool.

Re: LED light strips
Lights look sweet guys, and im pretty savvy on the laws now
My question is how are the strips fastened to the yak. Double side tape, silicone, some sort of adhesive? This question pertains to the supernovas, wild cats and the DIY. Sorry if this has already been addressed.
Thanks
