LHL or B&R flats next week

Post by salt_fly »

I am thinking of making my first trip to LHL or B&R flats next week. Probably in the middle of the week so boat traffic is minimal. I am hoping to sight cast to reds with the flyrod but will throw plastics if necessary. Has anyone fished these areas lately? I have heard that this may not be the best time of year (?). If not, any suggestions for this type of fishing?Any help will be appreciated.

I would suggest you contact Slowride for some up-to-date information. If the fishing isn't good there, he can direct you someplace else.

The winds have been high since last Wednesday. Ranging up to 20mph at noon, plus the water has been a bit low. Had to tow the yaks on saturday instead of paddling. Might be OK once the winds stop howling. Today they were still up. On a good note since the winds are from ESE and S, the water is clear.More details on my email fishing report.
