Going fishin' at Bayou Vista
Hello all, i'm going to hit up bayou vista tomorrow morning real early. Launching from Louis' bait camp, any tips? This is my first time going out there.

Don't forget paddle at home. Happened to me -- nearly ruined my day

You will have a decent outgoing tide throughout the morning.
I would concentrate on the drains from Pierce marsh into Highland Bayou and the drop-offs in Highland.
Work the bank opposite the houses above the RR bridge, from the marsh area down to the bridge.
Go into the first drain south of the RR Bridge, fish the deep channels and adjacent banks and any points where there is water flow.
Go to the southern most drain and fish the exit. Then up into the drain some for channel intersections.
Go to the drain just to the north and do the same.
I caught my biggest slot red, 27 3/4", at a drop-off in Highland Bayou -
Have fun -

Yakrumabout, thank you so much for that Info, I’m late seeing this response but I did most of what you said. I caught a lil 16in red off a oyster bed by the rr track.
