Kayak fishing the Lone Star State...

I was fishing in a marsh area and last time I was out I noticed a lot of small bait, a lot of small shad and small shrimp. So I wanted to fish with a jig head that I tried before- last year during this type of hatch. I used a Road Runner jig head that I normally use while fishing for bass. I typically pair it with a gulp mullet or fluke but recently I've been fishing with a small company lure from the Houston area called Backwater Predator (you can find them on Instagram). They are a grub style bait with baked in garlic scent- super strong smell. Well it was a slow morning but the afternoon turned on and when the fish hit this lure they really hit the lure. Which is great considering the jig head I was using has a very short hook. I landed a few nice specs and flounder and so did my friend that was fishing with me.
