Tom, any lessons on running a website?
Yes, we members are sad to see TKF go after all these years of sharing great & not-so-great fishing experiences. I learned a lot from everyone who contributed.
I saw this coming years ago as the postings steadily dwindled. I also remember years ago when we could count on at least a half-dozen new fishing reports a week. Now we're lucky to get one new one a month. Shoffer and I posted the last two fishing reports that were the only new ones for two months! Boo.
Tom's brief farewell post was really sad because it seems to confirm that newer websites like Facebook have killed off TKF. I have no interest in combing through its chaotic content and posts trying to sell stuff. Plus we know Facebook sells our personal data, to Hell with the consequences.
I take this opportunity to thank Owner Tom Stubblefield for keeping TKF alive as long as he did. I say "good-bye" with fine memories of informative, funny, sad & outrageous posts. I offer belated apologies to all I offended, lol.
Farewell TKF! Hope to see you friendly fishermen on our local waters.

I was just using the archive today to find rigging stuff...
Also all of Neumie's great databases - we need him to post the links somewhere else so we can find them.
But yes, connecting and planning with friends is the biggest loss.

I’ve been guilty of lack of reports, but the real estate market has been red hot and I’ve been too lazy to post my trips.
TKF will be dearly missed, there is no bullshit on this site and I was able to learn a lot about mine and other Texas bay systems. Facebook is completely undesirable, and more of a bragging/argue spot than anything.
Above all I loved getting the old timers and veterans perspective and hearing their stories.

Thanks, men! I'm your "old veteran" huckleberry.
Just because TKF is leaving doesn't mean we can't still fish together. Most of you know how to contact me. I'm always up for good communal fishing. That's how I met Yak Boi, one starry night in those Sea Isle canals.
My real name is Don Pickels and I hope to kayak fish until I cash it in.

Unfortunately I live 3 hours from the coast so I'm limited on when I can go and give reports.
I guess I should go archive the tips I got on changing out the rudder cable on the Ocean Kayak Trident Prowler I acquired

A shout out to Ron Mc.
After fly fishing for 75 years I thought I knew a bit about the obsession.
Then, after reading numerous post by Ron Mc, I realised I didn't know
nuthin'.

it gets worse, bro - I'm now throwing 1/16 oz (to 120') on baitcaster.

Tom's post on TKF going away is not up anymore. What day is the site supposed to go down for good?
Re: Tom, any lessons on running a website?
Just joined (like many others I dont do social media and finally got over my phobia enough to join here last month) and learned through the Sea Isles thread here that its Aug 15th but maybe taking the post down means someone else is willing to take up the flag (so to speak)... i dont have the skills.
fingers crossed

I never saw the recent post and is news to me. If so, that's sad.
I thought a couple years ago this came up and there was an agreement to transition the site management to a couple other community members here. I remember the posts back then and comments along the lines a deal was made, etc... thought it was a done thing a year or two ago.
Guess that fell through or didn't happen.

I understand we have another month grace, and we'll see if the outcome improves.
