Another System

Post by SWFinatic »

Looks like higher tides at minimum are in the future for the central/upper Texas coast if this forecast holds true. It's obviously really early but this track isn't good.

Tropical Tidbits' forecast doesn't paint a pretty picture. (Landfall Tuesday Evening/Wednesday Morning)

Yup, but it is still a week out. If it doesn't change much by Sunday I'll be heading to Rockport .......

About this disturbance, NOAA says to come back and check this weekend.
It doesn't even show up on WU tropical.

Many Models had Henri out over open water in the Atlantic and Grace over Florida at this juncture. Those prognostications were obviously way off. Too early to know.

And.......it's already changed. LOL. At the very least we can see which forecasting site is more accurate the farther out.

Not A System

Post by Ron Mc »

It's not a system (yet).
It's raining in Venezuela.
There's a 60% chance it will become a system in 5 days if it moves to Yucatan.
There's still a 40% chance it will rain out in Venezuela and become nothing.

ok - they upped it to 80% chance today - so it will probably become a tropical system.

Here's a report from Tropical Tidbits from yesterday. Dr. Cowan does a really good job IMO. Basically he says it's too early to tell where it will hit and how strong it will be. If you like weather you may like his videos.

We all have to live with weather and plan with it.
NOAA and NWS have to be the most accurate, because lives and economies depend on them.
Anyone following on VHF gets their information there.
They make the evacuation call, plants have to make the shut-down choice based on their predictions, etc.

We're on the wrong side of Ida to get rain, though we will get a great tide to fish (see my linked post above)
