A quick trip based on an invitation to stay at Crawford's private fish camp.
6 anglers in kayaks hit the water at sunrise. The river was not quite raging, but it was above the normal comfort level as the SRA was generating with one generator. The only other people we saw on the water was one john boat, and a couple of kayakers. Neither group lasted long as maneuvering the water craft was tough. We found an eddy that spanned about 200 yards, and we pretty much stayed there all day.
26 crappie
1 huge catfish
6 White base
2 FW drum
1 LMB
Heavy, heavy, files that got down to the fish were the only fly that brought strikes.
After resorting to jigs, we caught even more crappie. The catfish fell to a spoon.
