I’ve got a really nice Malibu 2 XL that I’ve had for years and added rod holders, anchor trolley and dry storage (so basically, it’s an angler package).
I only have a couple of issues and thought I’d ask the group.
1). It’s that retina insulting banana yellow, so should I paint it one of the new camo paint schemes or is that one of those ideas that SOUND good, but end up a train wreck?
2). There’s not a friggin’ flat surface to be found on it anywhere. It didn’t really bother me until I got my kid a new Ascend 12T and the entire inside is flat and everything sits perfectly! Has anyone done a nice looking makeshift rack for tackle boxes and “stuff?”

I'm not much of a paint guy but to me it sounds like it could be the latter of your 2 possibilities. Getting paint to stick on plastic is not easy in my experience. Add in the water aspect and I think you could end up with a bunch of paint flaking off. I've seen a blue Wilderness kayak that was painted fluorescent orange 
. And the paint started flaking off and looked like crap. I've had some luck getting paint to stick on PVC pipe by using an epoxy based glue/primer but I haven't exposed the PVC to water like a kayak would be.

Lol...I thought about that. I’ve just put work into getting this one the way I like it and a new yak that would be comparable would be pricey.
It could just be I want something new, but don’t want to pay for something new!

It was an echo.
I know Krylon makes paints (rattle cans) for plastics. When it first came out it was advertised for painting plastic lawn chairs. Since they would be exposed to weather... I imagine prep would be extensive. Sanding, etching primer, sanding, paint, paint, sand, paint...
Another possibility is the rubber "dip" paints. I have seen car guys use it for wheels, emblems, door handles, even a couple who have covered their whole car.
Holds good in weather, but comes off with a pressure washer.

I went and looked it up. It's Performix Plasti Dip. Comes in gallons, quarts and 11 oz rattle cans.
