Bass were on fire today

Post by imaoldmanyoungsalt »

A buddy and I went to a small local lake today and killed it on bass. Almost every fish was caught on a green pumpkin wacky worm. I'm estimating we caught close to 75 to 100 fish each. That number also includes many crappie and bluegill too, again, all on wacky worms.
Here's a few of our best fish

As a side note. We see some really cool planes fly over this little lake quite often. Yesterday we saw Fifi, one of the only 2 B29 bombers still flying. And it flew literally right over us at a very low altitude. My buddy is a huge, and I mean huge, airplane nut and I think he was more excited by it than he was those huge bass he caught.

So jealous!

When I first got into Kayak Fishing in 2009, I had a day like that once. No bluegills or crappie - just dozens of good size bass on a hidden lake that I am sure NEVER got any fishing pressure. Everything I thew looked like food to these basses. From that day forward, I was hooked.

Awesome! I have gone back to my bass/crappie roots and I’ve found hat the most rewarding way to do it is still from a yak.
