Good job, but I think you have to get a little closer to the material.
Joe Your flys look good; who tied them for you? (LOL)
The paint job on the Mini Popper looks great. Won’t be long and you’ll be tying all Dean’s flys, so he won’t have to depend on Roy.

I like the idea as to setting a coin next to the flies to give perspective. Now I just have to figure out which ones I need to tie for the salt while the weather is still nasty.

If you were to tie some of the following you'd be pretty well set;
Gurglers & Mini-Poppers for the top water bite
Voodoo's & Spoon Flys for the skinny water
Seaducers & Decievers for the mid-water bite
Clousers (bead-chain & lead hour-glass) for the deeper water

Was just talking to Ruben (aka Snookdude, aka Mud-Dauber, aka Shrimp Slurper) and told him what I was about to post and said they sell this at FTU too. Didn't ask what they charge there for it but it seems like a lot of moola to pay anywhere for a stick with yarn on it
. I know it's a little more than a stick with yarn but it can't be too much more. Do any of you feel like this is an actual tool or is it just an expensive gimick for those that don't know? I've seen it for some time now on the internet but didn't give it much thought.

I've now tied a few wooly buggers and a clouser, but none a worthy of a photo. It seemed easier in the class when the materials were handed to me ready to tie.
I also found that not all hackle is created equal. What type of hackle is used for palmering? I picked up an olive grizzly saddle hackle, but the feathers are too short.
