Fishfinder on my Tarpon120 completely removable

Post by pershing »

Hello:

After a long interesting and informative discussion on my previous topic:

http://www.texaskayakfisherman.com/foru ... 3&t=150797

I decided to go the route of power, transducer and display next to each other approach. I also used a variety of Scotty mounts and accessories to make them removable, changeable and reachable. Take a look at my pics. Let me know what you all think. Wont be able to test it til next weekend. Will let you know how it goes...

Basically I created a custom dashboard in which I had already mounted my handheld GPS and flush rod holders. I added a standard scotty mount in the middle. Using extentions I brought the display forward, used another one to deploy the transducer (used a Madfrog TDA arm) and used the other side for my rod. I can also eliminate the extention arm and mount the display directly to the dashboard. Cables are wrapped on the extention and I can remove it all if need be. I bungee'd the power box to the scotty base. I also added the spring modification to the neck of the display as seen on this topic: http://www.texaskayakfisherman.com/foru ... y#p1527624

Good fishing....

That looks amazing! I have the TDA and the scotty mounts for my fish finder and you have just given me the motivation to finish the project completely. Instead of the dashboard you've created I'll be using a Scotty Triple Mount on my OK Drifter. I'll post up pics when it's all finished.
