** Looking for advice **

Post by mch4fishing »

First off Howdy,
I have been renting yaks and its time to stop that.
We have tucked a little away here and there for the last six months and its time to buy...
I have had my eye on the Native Manta Ray 12 and I like it.
Now as I have been waiting for my local kayak shop to open back up (closed from 12/23-01/03) I saw the Jackson Coosi.
Any info of pro's and con's of the two side by side??? Both in the same price range.
I fish mostly fresh water lakes/ponds some creeks/rivers but also want to do the Galveston thing several times a year.
5-10/ 220 lb.
Thanks

Check this out....this guy went to factory to pick his up and saw the hole process.
I think that if I was in the market for a kayak at this time, I would strongly consider
this kayak...

I'm lovin my Coosa. Here are a bunch more pics you can take a look at to get some more info on the dimensions and such. All the Coosa pics start on page 2 of the album.

I'll be adding some pics later with my forward facing scotty rod holder that I just ordered. Also I installed a hobie anchor trolley that I have yet to get pics of.

Also, Drew Gregory posted a full walk through video on his blog. You probably have seen it if you were looking at this kayak but here is the link anyhow.

Check out the recent posts by "On The Guad" and his new Coosa. Looks like a great boat...I can't wait to paddle one. My mom is a fan of her MR 14 but if I were in the market for a new boat I would strongly consider the Coosa. I have yet to paddle one so I can't attest to its speed but lately I've been covering a LOT of water on my Galveston trips and I can't imagine doing without the speed of a 14 footer. Also, for what it's worth, my Malibu X-13 seems to be faster than the MR 14 with more glide but I don't know if that's an important factor for you or not.
