DIY Stakeout Stick Quick Release
After hooking up with a big red while wading last week I realized how retaining the ability to drop anchor and utilize the yak for drag might be a nice capability to have. I've been using a stakeout stick almost exclusively and after a little brainstorming and redneck ingenuity I came up with this for my solution. The anchor line braid is routed over doubled up 1/4" bungee for a little extra shock absorption in rougher water, in theory I'll be able to drop the loop end over my stick and the float will hold it at water level for easy access during release. I couldn't find many examples online when doing my research, figured I'd post here for any critiques from folks who have done it before or those who may be looking to follow suit!
