I’ve been wanting to try btb fishing for a while now, I’m going to try to be there!

We'll be launching at the concrete slabs on the beach about a mile west of High Island at around 8 in the morning.

Is 4wheel drive required on high island?
What baits are you guys using?

4WD is sometimes helpful, especially at the beach entrances, but some of our regulars don't have it.

Primary bait will be fresh mullet.

I can't kayak because of a pinched nerve. We surf fished Crystal beach Tuesday and Wednesday. We caught about 50 Whiting, black drum, blue runners and hard heads. I have only surf fished 6 times this year. We have not caught any reds. Zero. It's been a strange year.
