Hey guys, in attempt to increase my odds, I was considering chumming from my yak when my family goes on vacation in a few weeks at Surfside.
Has anyone had success chumming for kings, or does it just end up a shark/gaff top fest?
Chumming for Kings
Re: Chumming for Kings
I've never seen anyone chum for King Mackerels but not to say it can't be done. Are there any oil rigs or other platforms out there? That is where I usually see some of the YouTubers catch them. Not a fan of Kings and if I catch em I'll let them go, they are on the top 5 Mercury & heavy metals poisoned fish list especially in Texas.Volkswatson wrote:Hey guys, in attempt to increase my odds, I was considering chumming from my yak when my family goes on vacation in a few weeks at Surfside.

There’s one rig about 5-6 miles out. I paddled it once, and I’d like to try again.
I took the chumming tip from our Fla neighbors, so thought it might be worth a shot. I’m always looking for ways to raise my chances...
