I was curious also how all the local rigs stood up after hurricane hannah - Mayan princess, bob hall standpipe, bob hall rigs and the rig at the 5 mm on PINS.

For now the order that closed the beaches is still in effect August 1st at 6 am. If they are going to extend the order it should be announced by tomorrow.

Man, I'm with you, been planning our first BTB and driving 4 hours. We too need access with car and trailer pulling two hobie kayaks to around beach marker 80 to hit up Mayan Princess rigs. We are waiting until Sunday, staying over Sunday night to hit the surf early Monday morning. Please let me know if you ever confirm the current standing order prohibiting driving and sleeping that is to lift Sat. Aug. 1st 6AM CST. I will do this same if I hear something.

Thank you,
Roy

I haven't seen a clear answer from the news yet, but the beaches were scheduled to open back up Saturday morning at 6:00 am. They've been busy shoving sand off the entrance roads and making progress.

I'd be taking Friday off and be down there if I lived close to help them if I could...fingers crossed, I want to catch my first 40+" KING!

Called some local people to get some info but still could not get anything concrete.
Based on their answer:
1. Beaches are opened to people from 6:00am to 8:00pm.
2. Vehicles are not allowed to drive in beach yet until August 10.
3. Water is clear.
4. Watch out for submerge structures that were washed out by the storm surge.

Can’t verify item 2.

Hope #2 isn't true, need to get to Marker 80 to launch. Only this this is 100% true is the current standing order from the judge and that's no driving on beach and curfew until Sat. Aug. 1st 6AM CST.

I hope they allow us to drive on the beach too.
Two weeks ago, I was down there to fish. They piled a large sand hill to block up the beach entrance to prevent vehicles. Don’t know what will happen to the entrances after this weekend.

Yeah just saw the news. Local beach Dictators are keeping it shut down for two more weeks. They’ll probably do it all over again in two more weeks...

We need to remember this when election and voting comes up. These folks need to be removed from office. This is rediculous with no science backing any of it. I am tired of these folks and the BS.

The beaches of Texas are supposedly owned by we the public. My ass. But entitled "folks" are allowed to play 18 in their barbed wire wrapped communities. VOTE
