I found a couple good saw blades and decided to make a few knives from them, and here they are.
Skinner
6 1/4 overall 2 3/4 in blade
handles are laminated popular and cedar with black high lights between layers.
Blade has a mustard , vinegar patina
Drop point
6 5/8 overall blade 2 3/4
cedar heart handles , this is a slim handled knife and very light
Clip point
6 1/2 overall blade2 7/8
white cedar handles ,looks a lot like ivory
Straight point
6 5/8 overall 2 3/4 blade
cedar heart handles
I have been carrying the straight point for the last week an I am impressed on how it holds an edge and cuts.
Thanks
Ron

Some good looking knives Ron. When using poplar and other woods for the handle, do you just coat them in epoxy the same as a kayak, or do you "stabilize" the wood by applying the epoxy in a vacuum?
Looks like a fun hobby!

Rod
It depends on the scale material, the laminated handles are pretty well stabilized.
Goose that might be arranged

Very nice work. What is the process for shaping the metal? Thanks

Pretty neat stuff. Looks like fun. I think it is cool that you are building your own knifes. One of my co-workers wants to start making his own knives. He bought a knife sharpening jig of sorts to sharpen his existing knives. I'm going to show him your post. Keep up the good work!
