Post your Camping Trailer Pics
I am converting a cargo trailer to a camper that I can also haul my Kayaks in.
I would love to see pics of campers that may inspire ideas during it's construction.

Re: Post your Camping Trailer Pics
I have a 1964 Avion H24. Its 24' long and in decent shape for the age. Its dry as a bone, and I'd keep it but I got off the lease I was on and no longer need it. It does have a couple smalles dents in it. But the inside is still in great shape and all pretty much original. It has a new window unit sitting under a good cold fridge. All the inside lights have been replaced. I have bought a nice mattress for it, but it wont allow the bath room door to close. But since I was sleeping in it myself it didn't matter to much. The water works great and has a small water heater that will run hot water all day long. I installed a radio in it along with speakers. Anything else you wanna know just ask.
Asking $3500 OBO.
Trade for a nice 4-wheeler or small jeep in good shape.
I need to get this out of my drive way as my dad keeps asking me when I'm going to sell it. He bought a new boat and my trailer is where he wants to park it so he can put a carport over it.
SO IT NEEDS TO GO FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
More pics here. Let me know if you want more.

1982 .. 19' Wilderness .. 27 years old and light enough for my Tahoe to have pulled it all through the Wy. & Co. Continental Divide with no problem. Passed many others on the side of the road on those 10-12,000' passes. I have put a lot of work into this old trooper.
Right before Ike I left the Island with what I considered could be all that I was going to have to start over again with
I headed straight for Morgans Shady Park and my end spot under the pecans .... ended up staying there almost a month before coming back to the Island.

I took an 8 x 5 enclosed trailer and did mine, The roof vent was easy to install and added a self contained a/c unit.
Other than that, just added hooks, straps and rod hangers on the inside.
It can sleep 2 adults on 2 seperat camp cots. I had an old screen room in the barn and cut one side off, to use as a misquito(sp) cover for the back opening. It is wired for 110 and 12v.

Re: Post your Camping Trailer Pics
I have been wanting to build a trailer like Ron's for a while now. Randy posted his cargo trailer that he converted for camping and I thought Hey I have one of those that I don't use for work anymore,so here it goes. It is a 2007 Pace American 12x6 with double back doors. It had kinda become a portable storage building so it took me awhile to clean it out and remove the shelves that I built for material while I used it for work. First I built a cabinet in the front corner for storage and such.
Then I built a bench/ battery and A/C power compartment. Which will house 2 deep cycle marine batteries, a inverter, fuse block for D/C power, small panel for A/C power and a power cord.
My wife is going to sew a cushion for the bench and I am going to fabricate some sort of removable table for when the weather is bad. The bed will be across the back of the trailer with storage underneath. A/C will be in the nose beside the cabinet. I really don't have a set idea for this, so we will see what all gets added as it goes along. Now I gotta build a rack for my truck to haul my boats.

Got alittle more done this evening. I glued 3/4 foam to the ceiling for insulation.
Then I screwed 1/8 masonite to the ceiling braces. I am going to cut the hole in the nose tomorrow night for the A/c unit. I stopped today and bought some 2" thick foam to use as a mattress once the bed frame is built.
All of my wiring will run down each side between the walls and the ceiling. Once everything is wired I will put a piece of trim down each side to tie the ceiling and walls together.

TD, we have an '89 Fleetwood Prowler Lynx with almost the exact same floor plan. Only difference is our door is on the other side of the table. I'll see if I can dig up a pic.

I'm obsessive compulsive, so I have 3 rvs. Each one has a specific use. My Aerbus is for 2-6 month forays, my scamp is for me and dog to go fishing in and the one pictured here is just my fun camper. This pic is in the national forest near flagstaff, az and was taken about 4 days ago. We were on our way home from Las Vegas.

Re: Post your Camping Trailer Pics
Here is some pics of the inside of my enclosed trailer,,, nothing fancy, but it has that "Man Touch"
I did add a smoke and carbon minoxcide detector when I did this, these trailers are pretty much air tight, and need ventilation, using a small propane heater for heat, I don't wanna "Go Out" in my sleep in my own trailer.

Randy, and others. Ol Al taught me something last year at Oktoberfisch last year.
Buy a small electric heater ($7 at the Dollar Store) and use it instead
of a propane heater. It works as well (or better) no fire risk and it doesn't remove all
the oxygen from the air.

Ty, you pull that dutchman okay with your toyota? We have a 28' Keystone springdale but it's about 9700lbs and I recently downgraded to a 1/2 ton chevy but haven't hooked up to try it yet.Tyak wrote:Here's our 28' Dutchmen. We love it and can't wait to hook up tomorrow for Labor Day at High Island.

Here is our new Roll Crib. Decided to go a little bigger after Ike took our 21 footer.
It's a 28' and we pull it with a Tundra. I think the Tundra has a tow capacity of about 10K.
