where can I buy some in Houston? We frequently need to setup a tent quickly with just a tarp and I would like to have couple of these poles ready.

MOST Wal Marts have the adjustable metal pole. I think the package has two poles per pack??? Look in the camping section where the tents are located. good luck

academy has them.in the tent section

also you can go to Katy to katymill mall and it BPS.. they got them too.
