Looking to do a Beach Clean Up
Some of you know me, and some don't. I'm not a tree hugger, but I like to leave things better than I find them. When I take my family to the beach, my wife knows to pack some trash bags for me, and as soon as I get there, I clean up our area of the beach for about 100 yards in both directions. It's just what I do. I always clean up everywhere I fish too. I saw a sign at a National Park in New Hampshire when I was in college, and it has stuck with me. "Take only pictures, leave only footprints."
So, now, I am in a position to be able to do something positive. I am working with Bobby Ford Inc with doing a twice a year beach clean-up. Bobby Ford Inc, who now sponsors our travel forum, will be providing all the necessary clean up materials. I have not nailed down any dates, but I need to know who would be interested in helping. This is a huge website, if we could get about 200 people, we could clean up about 6 or 7 miles of beach. That would be awesome.
The beach we are cleaning is the one that starts just after Surfside, and extends to San Luis Pass. (the county beach)
So, who is tired of looking at trash? Who is with me?
The cleanups will happen on Sunday mornings. Just a couple of hours.
Here is a pic that I had when we harvested seagrass from a pond, and planted it in Pierce Marsh with The Galveston Bay Foundation.

I just got the OK to proceed on this, and I have secured a date. I'll be posting it up soon.

I would be more than willing to help, schedule permitting. I tried to vote and it wouldn't let me. I also have a 15y/o boy I will wrangle in to help. Letting him drive on the beach will be great incentive. Just may have to wait till everyone else leaves.

Depending on the date and the drive myself and kids would be able to do it.
BTW the poll has not worked right 90% of the time I have been a member on here. Just an fyi.
