South Padre "must see's" recommendations ?

Headed to South Padre in a couple weeks, staying in a condo on the beach. Any "must see's" or recommendations?
Never been & we'll have our twin 3yr olds with. Planning plenty of beach time, not bringing the yak.
Restaurants? Kayak shops?
Saw the pontoon dolphin trip, sea turtle rescue & maybe aquarium in Corpus on the way back to SA.

See Tony at UB Captain for a great kayak shop. If you like Italian, try Gabriellas and for a dining experience over the water go to Pier 19. Don't forget Port Isabel for a tour of the light house and Pirates Landing, a restaurant the kids will love.

If you have the time, a trip to Brownsville (20 minutes) and the zoo would be great for the kids.

Hole in the wall great seafood try Jose's oyster bar in port Isabel tell them "the Kayakero" sent joe will treat u right.
