I got Sunday off and been dying to go hit the salt but its to rush to go in one day all the way to the coast. So my plan b is to fish for LMB...never caught one of these beast before and it's on my bucket list. Anyone want to help out a first timer where to go fishing for LMB around the San Antonio area(no honey holes, just area to launch)?? I heard about boerne lake but don't know any info...any ideas would be great. Thanks in advance fellas!!!

Re: First timer
I live way north of you or would love to help you out on your first LMB. If you go early look shallow for bass feeding on shad/minnows. A top water frog can produce at that time.
As the day progresses something as simple as a small crank bait or a Texas rigged worm will usually get a bite. Find isolated structure like a tree laying over by itself near a drop off to deeper water and beat it to death with that worm. work it slow, and when you think you are working it slow, slow down some more!
