Sea Drift and Chocolate Bay

Post by Petem1999 »

Friday I headed out to Sea Drift.
low 55 high 80
Wind NE 5
Partly cloudy
Incoming tide
Water was clear....
Fish were very shy and not hungry...
There were around 5 dolphins that were working the area, a couple of times I saw them breaking the surface after bait fish.

Around noon moved over to Chocolate Bay by Port Lavaca.
Light winds
Clear water.

Fished the Bayou out to the bay and was catching Rat Reds.
Moved out to the bay
Lots of Redfish moving around, lots of mud trails
Was throwing live shrimp and ended up with two slot reds and a black drum
Lots of rat reds and a few cat fish.

No boats out on the bay
