Ran down to GISP last weekend. It was supposed to be horrible weather, but twice now once I got out of the truck.. not a drop till I got back in. Blessed.
What was cool is park was flooded due to the heavy SE winds. I could have kayaked the walking trails.
Launched and paddled and waded in the highlighted spots.
Super action on baitfish everywhere around me. Brought live shrimp, been a while, which yielded me 2 hardheads. The remainder of the shrimp went to some other younger anglers that probably have more patience.
No reds or trouts, one really nice flounder on 3 inch ping tail shad, not a bite on new penny shrimp think a lady fish tore up one. So not a complete skunking.
FAR from success but had a blast either way.
Thanks to the last guys that suggested a drift sock, made all the difference.
Need to find somewhere I can hook up with a nice red!

time on the water is never wasted - thanks for the report
Re: 05/23/2021 Galveston Island State Park
Thanks for the report! I fished there the next day on 5/24 and although it was slow, I did catch a PB flounder of 22” using a small white and green paddletail. However, that was one fish for 4 hours of work. I came across a good sized alligator hunting 1/2 mile offshore which was disturbing, Probably the salinity is low due to all the run-off. Lately I have been launching by Lake Como.
