Fished twice this past weekend for flounder in the Galveston area.
On Friday fished the RR bridge upstream of Louis on Highland Bayou on the outgoing tide in the evening. Got held off the water by storms until about 5:30, so I didn't have much time to fish. Plenty of bait in the area and trout were in the deeper part of the channel. Also noticed what looked like a few small reds blowing shrimp up along the shoreline.
Managed this one nice flounder on a gulp along the shoreline.
Went back out in my power boat on Monday afternoon to the Galveston Ship Channel to see if there were any large flounder hanging around. Very slow day with little to no water movement. Tried several spots with no success until the tide started moving a bit around 4pm.
Ended up catching 4 flounder in about 15ft of water on gulp during the 30 minutes of slight tide movement. Kept a 21" and 19" and released a 14" and a 12".
Decent weekend, looking forward to the better tidal movement this upcoming weekend.
