That's where my Mom lived until yesterday. I'm pretty sure that key had about 30 feet of water over it during the hurricane about 5-6 years ago.
She's heading to the West Coast to spend her retirement years.

It was 5-6 feet at a standing flood with 10-15ft swells on the Gulf beach side. I was here for it. Not bad for a CAT 5

My sister in law worked the front desk in one of those hotels down on the Strand. Needless to say, she had to look for another line of work for awhile.
