Rock Port spots/advice

Hey everyone,

I am planning to head to rock port for the first time ever for some yak fishing. Anyone have some recommended spots/advice.

LHL (lighthouse lakes) is the prettiest place you'll kayak anywhere near. And at times the fishing is great. If you've never been this is ny first choice.

Copano Bay. Launch at Goose Is. SP or at the Big Tree.

Copano or St. Charles Bay. I'd stick to the shallow reefs and grass flats fishing for redfish. The nicer trout are out on the deeper reefs so unless you have a calmer wind day most trout will be dinks... but the redfish on the other hand...

Also from Fin & Feather south along the ICW Redfish Bay, bordered by the ICW, & Ransom Island to Dagger Island has been good. "Inside Dagger Island" as they say.

You are right. Those are St.Charles.

all these guys are spot on but i didnt see any one mention cavasso creek. Its a really easy put in right off 35 and you can go up into skinnier water or down into st. charles bay. last time i fished it i had great success. the creek was full of fish there were even porpoise chasing fish right by the bridge. if putting in here i usually make my way to the bay and drift the big flats on the north side of the bay or paddle across to the many bayous that drain in the bay on the south side. drag anything across the holes on the flats and you will catch something. only trouble is getting out there on a day where the wind is cooperating and hasnt stirred up the bottom

Oh yeah, Rockport area is some of the best fishing on the coast. Good luck and enjoy!

looks like i'm a little late. I went to Brown & Roots flats on Monday. I came away with 1 red, 1 jack cravalle and 3 trout.
perfect day: no wind, no boats and plenty of fish (small trout, skipjacks, hardheads...). there was a lot of seaweed though.
top waters, new penny gulp, attraxx mystic shrimp and white fishbite shrimp killed them. I also tried shrimp and croaker, but the artificials worked best.
