Corpus rigs

Post by ntsharker »

What ever happened with the rig removal rumors? Anyone have an update as to which ones are still there?

They removed the popular rig at mile 5 of PINS. It looked like they were removing some of the MP rigs, because they had Jack-ups around some of them at the end of summer. Turned out it was maintenance work and they're still standing for now.

Yep, the big yellow one that everyone liked, including the snapper. They blew it up and killed our fish. If the people who made that choice were a horse... :horse:

the real sad part was grouper were filmed on that rig several days before they killed it..they should have to put in artificial reefs where the rigs where when they take them down..

Why did they blow it up instead of just cutting it off well below the surface?

I haven't been down to PINS since the fall. I saw the larger rig farther out was removed. Is that the rig that was referenced as having been removed, or have they removed the smaller rig that was closer in as well?
