Drago's Char-Broiled Oysters are Amazing!
So when I asked how to cook my haul of oysters my son and I got the other day, some form of Drago's Char-broiled oysters was the overwhelming recommendation. Here's the result in pictures:
It was amazing. Hand's down the best seafood dish I've had, much less made myself. I was so excited I did some research on the recipe and wrote about its cool history over on my blog Drago's Char-Broiled Oysters if you are into that sort of thing. Otherwise do yourself a favor and get some of these soon!

We make our own cocktail with large amounts of horseradish. My wife really digs it.

Yea baby-- The question is how do they compare? I have had some "real close" but not exact... to Draggo's. In fact I tried twice and just couldn't get there,.

I'm actually the descendant of Plaquemines Parish Croatian oyster fishermen. My great grandfather was from an island in Dalmatia called Privic Luca (first island) and jumped ship in New Orleans during WWI so he would not have to return to Europe.
He settled in the oyster fishing town of Buras, married a local girl, and started having lots of kids. My grandfather, born in 1916, grew up with Drago. One of my oldest New Orleans memories was going to Drago's back when it was in Metairie just to eat charbroiled oysters.
Love the new location in the Marriott, but the prices are about double what they used to be!
Any way you slice it, Drago's charbroiled oysters are my absolute favorite way to eat oysters.

What did you put on those oysters, looks like more than garlic butter, cheese, and parsley?
