Hook Spit Rods LSKS Aug.15th Werner Paddle Event
Hi Lone Star Anglers,
I hope every ones summer has been filled with bent rods & ripped lips. It's all most time for the 3rd event of the season on August 15th & i can't wait to see y'all. We all ready have a few anglers registered so it looks like there are some excited anglers chomping at the bit for their shot a some cash & awesome sponsor prizes.
We will be back at the Lazy Lizard in San Leon for the weigh in. We should have the field across the street available for parking, so that should help everyone not have to park very far.
If you have never fished a Lone Star event ... entry is $65, single person event, 75% CASH payout to the top 25% of the field + sponsor prizes, trophies for 1st-3rd, 2 redfish, artificial only, inshore only, paddle craft only, 1/2lb bonus for live weigh in & release, boundaries are from Sabine Pass to Colorado River/East Matagorda Bay & Angler of the Year Title, cash, prizes & the LSKS Cup ! Stop by our website for full rules & to register.

Looking forward towards this event - fun times as always!
Re: Hook Spit Rods LSKS Aug.15th Werner Paddle Event
Just a suggestion when releasing Redfish at the weigh in. When I let the fish go, they went belly up for a short period of time. I went in the water and moved each Red around until they swam off. Problem was we had cooled the water in our cooler so the Reds would be alive at the weigh station. Problem was the fish were shocked by the sudden warmer temperatures of the bay. Next time I will spend more time acclimating the fish.

thats a great idea Tombo, that is always a challenge when trying to release em.

How much of a live well setup is needed for redfish? With a bubbler work? Or do they also need the water pump circulating the water too?

A bubbler will work, but, no matter what you do, you need to keep the water cool. I put a frozen water bottle in with them to keep the temps cool.LocoSeamonkey wrote:How much of a live well setup is needed for redfish? With a bubbler work?
