Anyone been to the River Lately?

dadavis, you been out to the river lately? I had a slow day at work and decided to go drive down to check it out and it looked like the water has gone back down. Thinking about makning a trip that way one evening after work.

Anyone been?

I am shooting for next Sunday afternoon to go explore and put an hour on the boat. If not, next chance is Sat the 30th. Too much traveling to fish.

I may try South of Houma, LA.
Did the upper Sabine River get rain like last month or was it mainly to the west of us? I am in the Netherlands so I only see what Houston looks like.

my parents live at Toledo Bend and they only got about 2" yesterday so it shouldn't be to bad, Sabine Pass took a beating yesterday so TX bayou and TX point probably gonna have a bunch of freshwater in them

I drive down there daily. Right now, the whole road is under water. But I have been seeing a lot of bait fish moving in.
Water is dirty but that's normal for this time of year. I have not set up early morning and looked for redfish sign. As soon as the water gets back down to normal, I will start looking early morning.

If the shad are in there, then the redfish should be back in there. Hopefully the shrimp will be in there again. Looking to see how the poling skiff will work in there.
