I don't mind telling you where I like to fish and it's about 200 yards out from the right side of the kayak launch if you are standing on the bank looking across to the opposite shore.
It's about 24' of water and I anchor and cast out toward the gates or opposite shore. I also fish straight down and tightline a #6 size trebble hook loaded up with a gob of Big Marv's cheese punch bait. Just drop it down to the bottom and crank the reel about one turn and watch your rod tip.

I have not been out there in a while. Actually a couple years, but I used to clean up about 100 yards off the right of the kayak launch at the buoy.Water drops about 3 feets right there. I

The bouy is gone! I though that the cat fish hole was the 181 cove? 13 ft deep.

You can make your own cat hole along the dam in 20 to 25 foot water by chuming with sour milo, dog food in a mesh sack or range cubes. Fishing straight down with Big Marv's cheese bait will draw fish to an area.

Depends on who's catfish hole ur talkin bout Remus.
Yes there are many, but the one you alway hear about is across the lake. If you don't know where, how and when its kind of a long shot. Theres just a small area that holds the lot of fish and if ur 5' off u won't catch a thing. Best thing to do is catch a Cali Cat yaker and ride out with him. Im not an original, but wuz told as long as I learned the secret catfish handshake I could b one. JK
Seriously tho its not my secret to give away, but I've never seen one of the Cai Cats turn down a first timer. U just have to catch one at the launch. They start early in the morning if their out. Good luck.
