White bass fly "El Estilio"
This style is used for deeper water, and in the style of the clouser minnow, but on a #12 4x streamer. Enjoy

Re: White bass fly
Billy T ties a short-tail version of that fly using synthetic fibers, which is better for white bass, because they're major short strikers.
Also better for bottom bouncing white bass, use bead chain eyes and fish a sinking line.
(all 2-y-o males, released everything else - and finished my bag limit while my buddies were filleting from my stringer)

The pictures are some of the catches I have had fly fishing with my son. The guy at the table is my wife's uncle eating white bass I caught. The green stuff in the bowl is what I make to stuff the white bass, it's a puree of fresh parsley, dill, olive oil , lemon juice, kosher salt and pepper, I believe that's it. And finally massaging my wife's feet is why I get to go fishing, but not really.

Re: White bass fly
In clear water, my best white bass fly is Little Olive Whistler
it rides hook up, and the 200R point sits well back
I saute lightly floured white bass fillets in browning butter, after first draining the fillets on paper towels, and side up spiced with lemon papper
I have a 15" paella pan that will saute 6 white bass fillets at a time
it rides hook up, and the 200R point sits well back

Fixing Loose Line Guides on a Vintage Fly Rod. How would someone smoothly put epoxy on the line guide wraps? Or at least smooth it out or is this the best it gets?

Man, I gotta learn to fly fish! I've been wanting to for a long time, specifically to target whites. I always intend to learn before the spawn starts, and once again, I've waited too long!
