Went to Moses Lake yesterday afternoon thinking it would be less impacted by the low water in the bays. Air temp right at 60, water temp 56-58, with winds from the south under 10 but gusts over. Water was down a bit but not bad. Water was clear, could see bottom easily in 1.5. A flock of birds were working an area and a few pelicans were actively diving. It was a nice day to be out.
Fishing was slow, but eventually I found some at the mouth of the central marsh area. Not sure if current was moving or if the flow was just wind driven, but there was some movement out of the marsh. In this area I caught a couple of reds to 17” and a small flounder.
I tried some of the deeper areas, where fish showed up on the FF but I got no takers on the jerk shad, a small DSL paddle tail or a popping cork.
Finished the day heading back south along with the parade of oyster boats headed in with their loads. All in all a great day on the water. More of an exercise day, with 7 miles in 4 hours out, than a fish day but some nice sights and nice companionship!
Later in the day an Osprey was up high just stationary into the wind for a spell then glides down and off behind me. Soon I hear a big splash and as I turned could see him flying off to the north with a small fish in its talons.Moses Lake 12/1

That’s a lot of paddling haha. I’ve never fished that area before, about how deep is it? Glad somebody caught some fishYakRunabout wrote:Went to Moses Lake yesterday afternoon thinking it would be less impacted by the low water in the bays. Good information for all of us, YakRun.
Any day I catch one or more flounder is a good fishing day. Keep us in the fishing loop...
