bonding transducer

Has anyone else had bad luck / poor reselution or false readings useing silicone or 5200 to bond tranducers to hull?

several people have had problems with this. The problems stem mostly from not getting good and complete contact without air bubbles. you'll get more answers on the saltwater board.
