The mo jo staff could get you in just as much trouble as a handgun. Get a CHL.

I have had to draw my weapon twice in my life. Both times were in Florida. Once I was involved in a racial situation and the other was when I was facing a bat wielding guy in a road rage incident. In the situation with the guy with the bat, if I did not have the Ruger P90 .45 cal I could of really been hurt or maybe killed.

Both times no shots were fired and everyone went home.

Quite aside from the problems that occur when you bring a stick to a gunfight.

Bravo!!!!!!!!!!

Worked out good.

How would these events have developed if you hadn't been packing?

We are all responsible for our (& our family's) own safety.

Give it serious thought.

And, let there only be one story told!

I packed one once when I went night fishing way in the back of Baffin, but I have my CHL. If you don't have your CHL, you're pretty much at the mercy of the LEO that discovers that you are carrying. We all know these gung ho buzz cut Oakley blade wearing types that would love to throw the book at you. Get your CHL.

the police will be there AFTER you're maimed or dead. they can't be everywhere and certainly not in the back bays where you and your kayak might be.

yes, carrying a firearm anywhere/anytime is serious, as is my right to freedom to protect my family and me from harm.

the colt .380 goes with me everywhere. paranoid? maybe. but you might just be glad i'm there if something "unexpected" happens.

and nobody ever "expects" the bad guy to do things...

I'll say it again get your CHL. I have mine and rarely carry but at least when I do I'm legal and don't have to guess if it's o.k. or not.

Okay, so, shotgun it is. Are there dry bags designed for carrying a shotgun around?

I didn't mean for it to sound like they're all like that. I've got two really good friends that are cops and only one of them is like that.

Hand Gun Laws Changed

Post by Watchin Tails »

In Texas you can carry a concealed weapon in your vehicle now without any permit. The weapon can be loaded so it is ready for use. I don't remember all of the specifics.

You still must have a license if you want to carry it in public. Ask a trooper or warden and they should be able to fill you in on more of the regulations.

These rules were changed in the past couple of months.

I use an LL Bean Gun Boat case. It's like a dry bag shaped like a gun case.
