Ocean kayak rudders

Can somebody refer someplace that is willing to install a rudder on a Ocean Kayak malibu 2 kayak, this model has foot wells and not the flat bottom like others?

Where do you live?
There are shops like mine that will install a rudder on just about anything that floats.
You have to add foot braces on the boat. With molded in foot braces, there is not much room left for your feet.

ACK/Canoesports is on Bissonnet, a couple miles outside the loop. They are OK dealers. Give them a ring.

Hey dandk,

You will have a slight problem with the rudder idea, there isn't one for your kayak. If you look at the stern design it's pointed. I work at Canoesport (part of the Austin Canoe and Kayak, austinkayak.com, family) and will tell you there isn't a rudder designed for the OK Malibu or the Malibu 2 XL, which we sell. The Zest Two XP is the only tandem I know from ocean kayak that will take a rudder. Below is a link for you to look at and let us know if we can help with anything else:

I just got my 2009 Zest II EXP Tandem and will be brining it in the ACK store on Bissonett this Thursday for you guys to install my Smart Tracks Rudder Kit I bought from ACK. Do you guys over there at the ACK store have the COD APEX seat w/ rod holder in stock?

Well we have the Apex 1 seat and also the rod holder bag for it.
