Post by Texmullet »

Looking for a Hill Country Bed and Breakfast on a river that we can kayak on. Know of one?

Haven't stayed there yet, but Raye Carrington's seems like a no-brainer: http://www.llanoriver.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Pricey, but that's your call. :D I've not stayed there, but Bill and Jan Neiman are first class.

Not on the water, but a great view and pretty cheap for a B&B. My wife liked it, and she is picky. Between Blanco SP & Perdenales Falls SP. We floated the Guad SP down when we stayed there.

Since I live here, I have never stayed in one but there are several in the Kerrville, Ingram, Hunt area. However, normal water levels are too low to allow long river floats that are not interrupted by long shallow water drags. There are a series of both natural and man made dams in the area which provide deep water areas of the river. Fish are not large but are fun on light tackle and there is enough fishing water to keep you busy for a long time. If you are interested give me a PM and I can be more specific.

there is great little motel on guad west of hunt..in fact 1st place you come to on river from east. http://www.riverinnresort.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

situated behind small dam it sits on a small lake......you can paddle upstream ..as far as water levels will let you. or float down from several low water crossings upstream.

but the motel has rooms that face water......all amenities.....and you are on river side of hwy...which at that place on river see's least amount of traffic.

i checked in one nite and stayed a week.

each room has nearby grill, almost your own personal campsite. lots of families come there for the several days so it gets real neighborly.

this is the real hill country deal. sat nite is is rodeo and dance at crider's downstream a few miles.
