I've considered buying a Ride but have to throw up the red flag and ask, "Why are so many up for sale?". When I check the sale board on TKF there seems to be a disproportionate amount of Rides for sale vs. other kayaks.
I'd like to know why the sellers are looking to part ways.

Re: Wilderness Ride 135 - why are so many for sale
Wilderness Systems just introduced the new redesigned Ride 135 and 115. Usually when any model gets updated, the older models come up for sale as people sale them to upgrade to the newer design. It happens with all the brands.

x2 also if they are used for a while then it shows a lot of people bought the rides and liked them since they were used for so long
Re: Wilderness Ride 135 - why are so many for sale
Plus, the Ride is a popular, high selling model. More sold new means more will be sold used.

I had a couple and sold them so I could get a Hobie Pro Angler...
Great yaks, but I really like (love) this one...
I have thought about getting the new 115 for river use
There's asoluteley nothing wrong with the Ride 135.
It's a great, stable kayak. I've stood in them several times, but with all the aching parts on me, peddle power finally won me over...
God Bless,
Doc S

x3 (or 4 or 5 or whatever number we are on)
WS Ride 13.5 is a great all around yak. Mine is not for sale
I think in general this whole new "Peddle Power" trend might account for the sale of many "traditional" kayaks. I imagine that the Inuit forefathers of the sport are turning over in their graves...
