Same thing as last year, folks are telling me it's too hot to fish and they want to wait until Sept/Oct to book their trips. I had a good response out of my TKFers last August so I figure we'll do it again.

My normal trips are $400 for a half day (5-6 hrs) and $500 for full days (8-9 hrs). These special trips will leave the dock at decent light and we'll be back by 11 to beat the worst of the heat. We'll be poling the flats and marsh lakes around the Galveston area hunting for reds to sight cast, but trout and flounder are also around for a bonus. Fly fishing or light tackle.

These trips are $300, one or two anglers, weekdays only through the end of August. Please shoot me an e-mail if interested and mention the TKF special. It's easier to keep up with e-mails on my phone vs PMs.

August is never too hot to be on the water.. I love august because when you are on the water you can start to feel the season change.. if your perception is sharp you can feel the water shift a degree lower... it's the sun angle dropping and less of that energy is going into the water... mornings are just a little cooler now as well.. love it.

I'm not going to lie. My cheap butt was waiting for this to happen again. Just in time. I go back to work on the 20th.

I think those rates apply to a maximum of 2 people which is a helluva deal. Scott knows his fishing. Book with him and you'd be glad you did. There is a lot to be learned that he can teach you and when the day is over you'll be amazed at what you are taking away from the experience.

Yes he is correct, that rate is for one or two anglers. Response has been awesome. This week is booked as are a few other dates, but there are still some available.

Those of you who are on the fence about doing this. DO IT! Its a heck of a deal and you get to go out with one of the writers for Texas Saltwater Fishing magazine! Scott knows his stuff AND he is a kayaker! I mean, he wrote the book on kayak fishing, doesnt get any better than that. Just think of everything you will learn.

And if you aren't into sight-casting we can always go give the deeper water fish a shot. We only got 8 or 9 yesterday, but of those only two were small enough to be in the slot. Ms Addicted got the big fish honors for the day...of course.

If someone wants to split the cost for tomorrow morning, I am up for it. I tried to wrangle up a friend, but no one can do it. I would be interested in light tackle sight-casting.

Booked and can't wait to go.

Considering they are good friends and my hubby was out of town, he was living vicariously through our text adventures and frequent photos of big fish from both Scott and I

Man that was a great day! We had a ball catching (and often sightcasting) some really BIG reds. Not every day is like that of course but that one sure was fantastic!

27th, 28th and 29th are still available. Had a great trip this morning with Shoffer and Dandydon. The marsh reds are starting to school up and are headed towards their fall pattern.

red fish or ok but what about trout and flounder you dont here much about its all about reds

We catch trout and flounder too, but the sightcasting game in the marsh is all about the redfish.
