Most of the people on here use SOTs for fishing, but some...as I do...use the sitin kayaks like the pungo and pamlico. Probably for coastal flats the SOTs are the boat of choice, but if you are going to be fishing in deeper waters...such as you will encounter on fresh water sometimes...and even the ocean...I believe that a sitin is a better all around boat. You will find that all boats, but especially small paddled craft are designed for fairly narrow and specific usages. You simply have to try out as many as you can to find one that will suit your purpose. Don't get into a hurry to buy a boat...take your time. Once you make your choice you'll live with it for awhile
