5 Long Years (updated 4-7)

Since Hurricane Ike took my pretty little beach home away. The wife and I have been wary of buying another home and been trying to find a place to park our 5th wheel on and set up a little vacation and fishing camp on Bolivar Peninsula.

Last Friday I signed the contract and loan papers! In the past I have gotten excited and posted something up and it fell through every time. This time I have waited until I thought I was going to bust.

If the bank gives us the final nod we will be closing by October 10th. It has been a long 5 years and I'm as proud as a new daddy.

I love those extended vacations where all I have to do is get up and haul my yak to the spot I want to fish (usually down the street). Bring home the crab traps, dehead the shrimp add the corn on the cobb, taters, sausage, fry up the fish and live the good life.

Yes, I have multiple hookups, so bring it on.

Again it looks like I spoke too early. The Galveston County health department will not approve the existing septic system, wants a new aerobic system which will cost an additional $9,100.00. The seller won't come off the price any to compensate so we are back to shopping.

God is still in control, I'm firmly convinced.

You gotta understand the place is still a work in process

Guest trailer is on the right. The "Wildcat" is a 30 foot 5th wheel with 2 slides, queen size bed, full kitchen, bath with shower.
Corliss and I stay in the "Bighorn" it is 37 feet with 4 slides.

Image

I have built a firepit and will be taking a large gas BBQ grille and my double fryer with 2 pots to do some serious boiling pots.
I've added 3 palm trees and 2 clumps of pompas grass since these pics.
I still have to get an electrician to run a 30 amp service to the Wilkdcat so the air conditioners will work.

The beach is a short walk, about 600 feet. In fact she caught a 30 inch bull Red right where this picture is aimed.
