Cold & Windy

Post by Wetneck »

Launched @ Bait camp @ 0700 was going down to try for flounder so todays paddle was plan be since the wind changed from the North to the east-southeast. Fished a few hours with no signs of life any where. The water was clear and the wind managable. About 2 the tide started rollin in and I landed a few rat reds, then nothing for the rest of the day. I tried the flats, the cuts, the grass, backwater, dropoffs, deep water. Let me know if I left anything out. NO FISH. Also if you try this route it offers all types of terrain and structure to keep it fun. BE AWARE of those crew boats at Teichman point. I think they try to wake us kayakers out on purpose. It used to scare me when I first fished out there but I can handle most boat wakes now that I know their going to try to sink me. HA

Happy Fishing:)

I don't know if they are waking on purpose or just plain don't take the time to slow down. They probably figure they're out there to make a living and you're out there playing and so their mission takes priority. It's good you've learned to deal with the wave action, 'cause I bet they're not going to slow down.

Wetneck...forgive my noob-ness, but how did you do that map? Looks like gps waypoints maybe? Looks cool.

Sorry it wasn't more productive...but it was better than watching football right? :D
