Re: RE: Re: New Shrimp Pattern
I keep thinking I can make a mono lead for a smaller bendback hook, so I can build half the shrimp on the mono and half on the hook, with the eyes and horn out beyond the hook tip. Not sure it will translate to a practical fly, but figuring out if it can be done is half the fun. In grassy condition...

Re: RE: Re: New Shrimp Pattern
Thanks, now I need to start figuring out how to make it weedless too. I don't prefer the mono loops but I do have a bunch of bendback hooks. Just one more idea rolling around in my head... Mono guards are the only thing I can think of other than remaking the fly on an inverted hook, but that would ...

Re: New Shrimp Pattern
Nice, looks very realistic. Good time to make it too. As winter rolls around, crustaceans will become a more popular food choice .

Re: RE: Re: Turtle Bay - Palacios & Reds
Hi Everyone, I picked up a new transom trolling motor so thought I’d go out to Turtle Bay and try my luck trolling the shoreline down to Sartwelle Lakes. I was hoping to run into a school of reds somewhere along the way but nada, only a few rats and small trout. I’ve never fished the area so follow...

Re: RE: Re: Design and 3D Printing Lures
It's been awhile since I've made an update, but I've prototyped an eel and crab lure. These printed lures are the "finished" product, but I can already see issues with making a mold. Some modifications are necessary, but it's a good start. Anyways, here's the whole family of lures; shad, ...

Glad to see a good discussion. For years I’d post up reports with the photobucket pics for BTB. It was always cool to re-live the experiences. The past few years I’ve gotten into video and what a blast to not only have the pic but the video of the whole experience. I’ve gotten sharks eating my bull...

Also sort of bringing up the rear are a couple of the inflatables by Bote. I'm liking the portability and functionality of the Lono Aero or Rover Aero microskiff... There are honestly almost too many options these days. The bug slinger rover aero is nice. My uncles ex wife's son has one and it is v...

TKF Proposal.
So DD Post on TKF ending, and Neumie's resent rise to TKF leadership made me think of something DD had said. Facebook was killing TKF. Soooo I was thinking what if Josh could transition TKF into a Social media app? Just a thought. It's up to Josh.

Re: RE: Anyone use an Activity/Fitness Monitor while paddling>?
I was paddling my new-to-me kayak into the wind and waves for a 20-minute, 1-1/4 mile stretch, and when I got to a lee shore, I anchored and checked my pulse rate. It was 65 BPM, which surprised me, as I will turn 76 in 30 days. It got me wondering whether a fitness monitor would be a good investme...

I felt like now was the appropriate time to announce that TKF will continue on. For the past couple days Tom and I have been in discussion for me to take over TKF. Over the next month we'll slowly work on transferring things (behind the scene stuff), but for now I'm honored Tom has entrusted TKF to...
