Re: kayak repair

FYI-used the Gflex on friends kayak with bad crack in stern. It worked like a charm! Veed out the crack, drilled stop holes, cleaned with alchohal and light flame treat with propane torch. Finished the repair with gator skin for more plastic he can grind off when he goes back to dragging

Re: kayak repair

WEST Systems makes a plastic repair adhesive that's apparently really good. Their promo video showed them sawing a kayak in half with a chainsaw, then butt-gluing it back together. They dropped it off a highway overpass about 40 feet, and it didn't crack. I'm sure it's pricey, but if it works, it's...

kayak repair

Haven't had much long term success with plastic welding so thought Id ask the brain trust. I think I read someone mentioned a Lexan glue of sorts that seals leaks? My go to for sealing old rivet holes has been Marine Goop but those have been above the water line. Ideas?

Re: Trolling motor run time?

I use a 60 aH lithium battery for my Minn Kota #30 and it lasts all day with a 6 mile range (12 miles total trip). A #30 pulls slightly under 30 amps on high speed so IF you ran on high(not realistic) you could run for around 2 hours. 2 hours of run time equates into about 8 miles at 4 mph headway. ...

Mission success! Rode a quick 15.7 miles in an hour today on streets and trails. The Ebike did exactly what I wanted it for....to extend my range. Yes, I can and did elevate my cardio by choosing PAS 1-3 and a cadence of 55-65. Sure is nice to come off a dead stop and hit the button to get back up t...

Nice barn of vintage iron you got there! Just took my intial spin on the Ebike, its crazy fast hitting 28 MPH VERY quickly. With a 52T chainring x 7 cassette, its more geared to hauling butt. I have a 12% grade paved hill nearby so I ran a quick test. Made it with ease on throttle only dropping down...

Re: best way

Bow and stern lines are needed imo. They ensure that the yak won't get blown at an angle from a cross wind. Also, on my set up my stern line is the best connection to prevent the yak from flying forward and doing further damange if I ran into the back of someone. I put mine upside down because the ...

Sorry to hear that KK. I routinely pick up a big bag of trash from LHL. Usually beer cans, fast food wrappers, and the like. My hope is that if we keep it clean, it will stop at least a couple of people from throwing trash out. Being present and using the LHL launch and cleaning up after is helpful...
