Re: Wondering?

Many many many years ago I heard people started going to Facebook and that was the reason TKF basically died. I always found that hard to believe as FB and a discussion forum couldn’t be anymore different. I lasted on FB for a few years but hardly ever used it as its not really compatible for discus...

20 mile galv buoy

Didn’t see anything on page one. Does anyone have an update on the data for this buoy? Have used it for years until recently. Really sucks no longer have the data. Anybody know when this will be back im operation or what alternate sites are you using for waves and water temps? I have found this to b...

Re: Hey Tobin

I've been traveling a lot the past couple of months and just got back to semi-normal here on the Ponderosa. The weather sucks (as some may have noticed) and I'm watching dvd's. Yes. Trout support dvd's too. They are good. I learn lots from them. I am not sponsored by you or your company. I am antis...

I hope planning this event influences the weather to be mild. We sure don't need flooding.

I will probably get banned for posting this but unless you really believe you can compete with the pros, why bother? So you have a few prospects from word of mouth who need some help. You both agree on a price and head out. Why does everything have to be so complicated? Are you going to quit your d...

Re: Two quick rod reviews

Nice reviews, although I'm more of a 24.95 Berkely kind of guy. What do you think of Academy's new display for rods? Many of the rods are now displayed higher than in the past and I don't see as many lower end rods in the 19.95 -50 dollar range. The last few rod purchases I had to do online through ...

Re: I want to improve!

I recently bought the trout support dvd. i don't regret the purchase, I learned a few things and I may purchase the red fish one. But I don't think it's the end all and there are plenty of good books out there that taught me plenty. I know books are no longer cool, but for me at least, I get more ou...

Re: Back In The Saddle

I think a person who still runs regularly, visits the gym, just overall lucky to be in good health can still have issues with kayaks. I can't go more than 2 hours without getting some real pain in my left buttock. I have tried those sports cushions and turning and alternating in all directions but m...

Re: SanLuis Pass CLOSED

There are plenty of trajedies to support any legislation they want passed. Drownings in the pass are not new. Does anyone really believe this will end all SLP drownings? Give it time and the fences will follow. Then they can proceed with "development" once all public access has been taken....

Re: SanLuis Pass CLOSED

Is that just the Brazoria side? So you can still wade the Galveston side? I guess since the nanny state is so concerned of our well being they should go ahead and ban swimming and wade fishing all together. And lets don't forget drownings in bathtubs. Ban all bathtubs. Its showers only. I sure hope ...

Re: Hook-N-Line maps

Up here, Spring and on up to Conroe, you will find them in most Academys. Like as has been already mentioned, a great general "lay of the land" and when to target certain locations. I have not used mine in years, however I am looking for the Conroe map, particularly for depth readings. Ove...

Re: Just have confidence in a lure

Are you sure it wasn't the cologne? Fish must have a keen sense of smell. There is a guy at the gym, it's murder awful when he takes the eliptical within 5 of the one you're using. I think there must be carryover to the fish species.

Thanks Fishhead for the info. I have no plans to try 61st on the weekends, no patience with those types you speak of. Just wondering if there is a charge to launch or for parking? I didn't try to drive in the other day, just passed by and noticed the changes. I would be looking at just before sunup ...

Offats Bayou

Back in the late 90's when friends on Tiki still had a boat, on hot summer days we could always anchor down at one of the deep holes in Offats and pull out a few flounder. I haven't fished it since but I would like to try it in the kayak. Then the question that never leaves us kayakers is where to p...

Re: times must be tough

It is, but I think it's more a reflection of the throwaway society we have become. Why go through the hassle of meeting a stranger off the internet for lures you can pickup new down the street or add to your next online order? We know you meant well but people just don't operate that way anymore. Th...

Re: New All Around Kayak?

Your ? mark in title is appropriate. It looks very heavy. Too many gadgets that will break down. True kayakers don't need half that. Just waaay too busy for me. That would never leave my garage and when it did I'd have to get up an hour earlier than my 3:00 am wakeup. Yikes!
